2) The local Pi Phat instructions had similar knowledge transmission processes.
These focused on basic practices including; stick holding techniques, appropriate sitting (illustrated by instructors), duo-squad practices and finger management techniques. This allowed their fellow musicians to get used to the sounds of the performance. When they could play the duo-squad and
do finger management techniques proficiently, they would continue on to other processes. These included the brief 2-layer songs, the overtures, and other medley and ceremonial performances.
The transfer process can be concluded as follows :1) asking to be ready, 2) the beginning of the practice, 3) performance practice and 4) the measurement. Furthermore, they were also taught about virtue and morality of being a good musician. The music was performed at homes, temples and music clubs.
