Abstract
Health care innovation embraces new processes and new products related to health care,
which can be apply to patients or organizations in order to assure the patient’s safety and to improve
the competitive position of the organization. In the whole health care team, the nursing profession is
the biggest one which operates the closest to the patients, providing health care, health promotion,
health prevention and rehabilitation. So the nurses need to be capable of developing creative and
innovative services. Therefore professional leading nurses should support and create an environment
in the organization to facilitate innovation. They play a key role in the innovation process; idea
generation, problem solving, implementation and capture. So the developmention of health care
innovative leadership is based on the use of knowledge, skills and good attitudes towards the
profession. Leaders need to develop a good strategy. The objective of this article is to propose the
steps for developing innovative leadership, which the nursing leaders can apply to their jobs, In order
to create sustainability and organizational development.
