This research was intended to 1) study a community lifestyle based on the concept idea of human factors for telling a story by employing the idea o f s to ry lin e t o p re se n t “ The T w e lve V a lu e s ” , 2) develop a short film by employing the idea of storyline t o p re sen t “ The T w e lve V a lu e s ” , 3) stu d y t h e re s u lt o f perception of this storyline-based short film presenting “ T h e T w e lv e V a lu e s ” and 4) s tu d y t h e r e s u lt o f students’ satisfaction towards the storyline-based short f ilm presenting “ The T w e lv e V alu e s ” . The sam pling group of this study included 40 students studying in the 6th grade at Banwangbuasamakkhee School, Kantarawichai District, MahaSarakham selected using a purposive random sampling. The research instruments of this study consisted of a semi-structured interview for a community lifestyle, a media assessment form from experts, and a perception and a satisfaction evaluating forms. Statistics for data analysis included percentages, means and standard deviations. Results of the study are as follows.
1. For data of the community lifestyle based on the concept idea of human factors, the community that was studied was Banwangbua Community located in Kantarawichai District, Maha Sarakham. It was found that 1) for physical geography, Banwangbua Community was a big community. Most of the area is a lowland appropriate for agricultural practices. There was a school belonging the community called Banwangbua Samakkheewittaya School which was an alternative school offering students studying in kindergarten to the 3rd grade. There was also a temple called Wat Tha Riap which is used for religious activities and other social activities as w e l l as m o ra l in s tilla tio n fo r stud e nts. 2) เท terms of psychology, Banwangbua Community is a community of relatives in which people share unity, helping and sharing among themselves. Thoughts, believes and values on many aspects related to Buddhism have been being transferred from one generation to another generation causing people in the community to treat one another with moralityhelping and sharing without taking any advantages.
Moreover, there have been collaborations among social institutions in the community’s activities. And 3) on the social and cultural aspect, people in the community have been following Heet Sip Song-the twelve traditions of the Northeast of Thailand conducted in each month from the past with the aims of merit devotion to the ancestors and compensation to nature and sacred things in which the people believed that they help them get a well-being life considered helpful for people encouragement to gain unity for taking part in all traditions every month together, and Khong Sip Si -the locally traditional regulations. 2. เท terms of media development and evaluation that the design method of ADDIE model was applied to for designing the plot and creating the short film “The 12 Values Passed Through A Community Lifestyle” , th e creation was comprised o f th e following: 1) analysis - analyzing the plot that will be brought to make the short film gained from the results of the study of the community lifestyle and the matters of the 12 values, 2) design - designing the script
and the shooting script, writing the storyboard ,and designing the locations and the characters of the short film, 3) development - preparing the resources used for developing and producing the short film, 4) implementation - sending the completely done short film to the experts to be checked for its suitability and evaluated for its quality and 5) evaluation - tasting the short film with the sampling group, and the evaluating result from the experts evaluating the medium in the overall picture and separately in the aspect of contents and the aspect of techniques for film presentation was on the highest rating scale (X=4.64, S.D. = 0.23). 3. The sampling group had perception towards the short film “The Twelve Values” generally on the highest rating scale (X = 4.80, S.D. = .14), and individually, 14 aspects of their perception appeared on the highest rating scale from all 15 aspects. 4. The sampling group had satisfaction towards the short film “The Twelve Values” for both contents and techniques of film presentation generally on the highest rating scale (X= 4.82, S.D. = .09) |
