This research aimed to study and compare English writing strategies employed by English major students, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Buriram Rajabhat University, classified by English proficiency. The samples were 82 third year English major students. They were selected by using the table of Krejcie and Morgan, and simple random sampling, respectively. The research instruments were the writing strategies questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and independent samples t-test. The findings were as follows: 1. The English writing strategies employed by third year English major students, BuriramRajabhat University both in overall and each category were at a moderate level. The highest mean score was affective strategies, followed by metacognitive strategies, compensation strategies, cognitive strategies, social strategies, memory strategies, and negative strategies, respectively 2. There were statistically significant differences at the level of .05 of the English writing strategies employed by third year English major students Buriram Rajabhat University as classified by their English language proficiency. |
