การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อจำแนกคำบุรุษสรรพนาม และวิเคราะห์บริบททางสังคมที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการใช้คำบุรุษสรรพนามที่อาจารย์มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยาใช้ในการติดต่อสื่อสารกัน ประชากรในการวิจัย ได้แก่ อาจารย์มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยาที่สอนในปีการศึกษา 2557 จำนวน 882 คน คัดเลือกเป็นกลุ่มตัวอย่าง จำนวน 275 คน โดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บข้อมูล ผลการวิจัยโดยสรุป มี 2 ประการ คือ 1) คำบุรุษสรรพนามที่อาจารย์ในมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยาใช้ในการติดต่อสื่อสารระหว่างกันมี 3 ลักษณะ คือ คำบุรุษสรรพนามที่ 1 อาทิ ผม/ฉัน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 44.84 คำบุรุษสรรพนามที่ 2 อาทิ คุณ/คุณตามด้วยชื่อ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 36.11 คำบุรุษสรรพนามที่ 3 อาทิ คุณ/คุณตามด้วยชื่อ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 36.11 และ 2) บริบททางสังคมที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการใช้คำบุรุษสรรพนามในการสื่อสาร มี 7 ลักษณะ คือ (1) เพศ ใช้กับเพศเดียวกันและต่างเพศกัน (2) อายุ ใช้กับผู้ฟังที่มีอายุน้อยกว่า เท่ากัน และมากกว่า (3) ความเป็นเพื่อนร่วมงาน ใช้กับเพื่อนร่วมงานในสาขาวิชาเดียวกันและต่างสาขาวิชา (4) ความสนิทสนม ใช้กับผู้ที่คุ้นเคยและไม่คุ้นเคย (5) ความเคารพ ใช้กับผู้ที่เคารพและไม่เคารพ (6) สถานการณ์ ใช้ในสถานการณ์เป็นทางการและไม่เป็นทางการ และ (7) ความสุภาพ เป็นการใช้โดยคำนึงถึงความสุภาพและไม่สุภาพ
The research aims to analyze and classify personal pronouns used by the instructors at the University of Phayao in the different social contexts. 275 from 882 instructors teaching during 2014 academic year were selected as the population. The instrument of this study was questionnaires. The study revealed two conclusive findings as follows: 1) The personal pronouns used in communication among the instructors at the University of Phayao, and the different quantity of use was also found as follow; (i) First person ‘Phom’ and ‘Chan’, accounted for 44.84 percent, (ii) second person ‘khun’ and ‘khun followed by name’, accounted for
36.11 percent and (iii) third person ‘khun’ and
‘khun followed by name’, accounted for 36.11.
And 2) Social context, the results show that there
are seven factors influencing the use of personal
pronoun; (i) gender, variable for the same and
different genders, (ii) age, variable for the same
and different ages, (iii) colleague, variable for
the same and different programs, (iv) familiarity,
variable for the familiarity and unfamiliarity of the
population, (v) respect, variable from respectful
and disrespectful attitude (vi) situation, variable for
formal and informal situation and (vii) politeness,
variable for polite and impolite attitude.
