รูปแบบการบริหารจัดการป่าชุมชนเพื่อรักษาระบบนิเวศและสิ่งแวดล้อม พื้นที่ป่าสงวนแห่งชาติ ในเขตเทศบาลตำบลปะคำ อำเภอปะคำ จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) Investigate context and participation of community forest management 2) Survey physical and biological features and 3) Establish model of participatory forest management. The studied areas included National Reserved Forests at Kok Yai Forest, Nong Mee Forest, and Nong Pra Suan Forest within the jurisdiction of Pakham Subdistrict Municipality. Study of information was conducted from documents, textbooks, and relevant research works, in-depth interviews, brainstorming sessions of stakeholders, survey of context and forest information with geographical and geo-informatics tools. The research findings revealed that the forest areas under the study covered in total 6.78 square kilometers, with elevation from surrounding areas, slope to the east and the west, and source of tributaries of the Mun River namely Lam Nang Rong and Lam Nam Mat. In the forest areas, firebreak roads were built. The forest areas were found to be encroached by villagers engaged in agriculture. According to the meetings attended by Community Forest Committee, community leaders, monks, and villagers, it was found that there was the need to set up clear forest boundary map to prevent encroachment, guideline to monitor forestation, firebreaks, and database of resources of community forests. It was also found that the abbot of Wat Pa Pakham Dhamma Samaggi was the leader of preservation of forest eco-system.
