Abstract
This research aimed 1) to study the need for developing English for
communication; 2) to investigate the ways of developing English for communication
course; and 3) to find out the problems in developing English for communication course
of people at Nongki Municipality in Buriram Province. The samples were 64 vendors
and 36 English training participants who attended the English training course for
ASEAN at Nongki Municipality. The research instruments were a questionnaire and an
in-depth interview. The statistics were the percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The findings of the need for developing English for communication were as follows: 1)
the vendors and English training participants at Nongki municipality needed for
developing English for communication at the moderate level. The vendors wanted the
others to accept their knowledge; however, English training participants needed the new
knowledge, 2) the ways of developing the English training course were at the moderate
level. The vendors needed more knowledge about greeting, asking and answering.
English training participants needed introducing, greeting, asking and answering, and 3)
the English training participants agreed that there was no problem in course
development; however, the problems were about the staff, place, and period of time. |
