Abstract:
The research article aimed to (1) study of current operating conditions and needs
assessment of the Faculty of Nursing Rajabhat University (FONRU) regarding academic
administration. (2) to generate the model of Academic Administration FONRU and (3) to
evaluate the academic administration model. Mixed methods designs were adopted. The
table of Crazy and Morgan was used to determine the sample size. 152 participants who
participated in this study were curricular committees from eight faculties of FONRU. The
research instruments were questionnaires, group discussion and assessments forms.
Collected data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.
The results revealed that;
1. The current condition of academic administration was a moderate level. The score
of needs of academic administration was ranked from high to low level as process, output,
and input factors, respectively.
2. The model of academic administration for FONRU consists of; 2.1 input factors,
components included: (1) Leadership of academic committees (2) Competence of instructor
(3) Student’s Characteristics (4) Resources and Facilities and (5) Organization Management 2.2
Process, there are three components: (1) curriculum administration (2) teaching and learning
management (3) measurement and evaluation. The process of model was driven mechanism
by the PDCA quality control cycle and teamwork. 2.3) Output, three components included
learner characteristics according to the qualification standard framework, graduate quality,
and satisfaction in the academic management system.
3. The components of academic administration model was suitable extremely
(��̅ = 4.51, S.D = 0.57). The level of feasibility, suitability, and usefulness of the academic
administration model was high (��̅ = 4.32, S.D = 0.57).
